Designed and developed entirely in-house by Mahindra, at the world class research and development facility, Mahindra Research Valley, Chennai, the XUV500 is Mahindra's first in a series of next-generation global SUVs, with significant inputs in styling and development from customers across the globe.

Cheetah inspired Styling

  •   The muscular wheel arches accentuate the XUV500's impressive,

Monocoque construction

  •   The XUV500 is also the country's first indigenously developed monocoque SUV with the first transverse engine offering
    from Mahindra.

Power-packed performance

  •   The 2.2 litre mHawk140 engine delivers an output of 140bhp and an impressive torque of 330Nm. Just step on the pedal and watch the scenery blur.

5th generation variable turbocharger

  •   It ensures instantaneous acceleration, taking the XUV500 from 0-60kmph in a mere 5.4 seconds

Dual Mass flywheel (DMF)

  •   The DMF reduces engine noise, vibration and harshness significantly and delivers a comfortable and smooth gear shift feel. This makes the XUV500 powertrain one of the most refined in the market.

6-speed transaxle

  •   The XUV500 hosts the first 6-speed transaxle fully developed and tested in India. The 6 speeds enable two overdrives, which help in optimum engine torque and speed, resulting in better fuel economy and acceleration.

AWD

  •   It enables better driveability in off-road conditions by distributing power between the front and rear wheels, as and when required.
  •   On a slippery surface or a tight bend, torque is automatically transferred to the wheels with traction.
  •   The vehicle transitions seamlessly from 2WD to AWD mode without any driver intervention. Giving you a level of handling prowess unmatched by conventional vehicles.

Interactive Torque Management (ITM)

  •   ITM monitors wheel speed, steering position and acceleration pedal position and distributes torque accordingly. If a wheel begins to slip, torque is automatically directed to the wheels with traction.

Micro-Hybrid technology

  •   The advanced Micro Hybrid technology helps conserve both nature and fuel. It automatically puts the engine into standby mode 2.5 seconds after you shift the gear into neutral at a signal or in bumper-to-bumper traffic. When you step on the clutch, the vehicle roars to life immediately giving you higher efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.

  •   To create the next generation of SUVs, you have to advance past the status quo. Probably why the XUV500 lets you discover features that most other cars have yet to.  A first-in-class, 6-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system with DVD player, CD/MP3, FM, Bluesense technology, full Ipod connectivity and 6 speakers.
 
  •   The XUV500 boasts a fully loaded GPS navigation system, which covers over 1.5 million kilometres of road across 1200 cities with a turn-by-turn voice guidance system in not less than eight regional languages. The system also gives the driver access to over 5 million touch points of interest including restaurants, ATMs, fuel pumps and movie theatres.
 
  •   A full-fledged, integrated Driver Information System diligently reports to you with all the vital information about the car. It tells you how far the existing amount of fuel can take you. It monitors the air pressure and temperature of each tyre. It even controls the cabin temperature for you.
  •   The intellipark reverse park assist system has a visual prompt on the LCD screen which shows you the distance between the rear bumper and any object behind your vehicle.
 
  •   The XUV500 steering wheel features Voice Commands, Cruise and Audio Controls for your convenience and safety. You can control the infotainment system without taking your hands off the steering wheel through Voice Commands.
  •   Cruise Control makes driving stress and fatigue-free, especially on long highway drives. It maintains the speed of the XUV500 at a preset level using the steering wheel controls, and also allows you to make small changes to the speed without having to use the accelerator.
  •   Steering-mounted controls also allow you to control your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone through the infotainment system in the XUV500 using Blue Sense technology. This allows you to access your phonebook, as well as make and receive calls.
  •   For more intelligent features, there are Smart Rain and Light sensors in the XUV500, which activate the wipers and headlamps automatically whenever external conditions demand.

One Part Sanctuary. One Part Fortress.

  •   Few vehicles are as fortified as the XUV500. And at the heart of this defense is the Electronic Stability Program (ESP).The ESP is always on high alert and constantly monitors the movement and direction of the car. When it detects loss of control, brakes are automatically applied and torque to the relevant wheel is reduced till vehicle stability is restored. Rest assured, the only thing that'll go out of control is
    your heartbeat!
  •   Rollover Mitigation, too, performs similar duties. It identifies potentially dangerous driving conditions that could lead to the vehicle rolling over. Well before the situation becomes threatening, it causes the ESP system to intervene and control the vehicle speed, thereby restoring stability.
  •   Hill Descent and Hill Hold control
    Hill Descent control identifies steep inclines and engages itself to assist the vehicle down the slope with caution. While Hill Hold control prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards when starting from standstill on an incline. 
  •   The XUV is well equipped to keep you out of harm's way. Six airbags reinforce the safety of the vehicle. Driver and passenger airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags cocoon you.
  •    As if that wasn't enough, the vehicle's body also comes with side impact beams and thoughtfully located crumple zones. They don't just absorb crash energy, but redirect it around the passenger compartment as well.

Leather-Wrapped Lounge

  •   Step in. Take the wheel. And find around you all you need for that incomparable feeling. Seats, steering wheel and several other contact points wrapped in pure leather.
  •   Intuitive and intelligently placed storage and controls.
  •   Fully Automatic Temperature Control with dual HVAC and vents in each row all come together to create an atmosphere of sheer exclusivity.
  •   Perhaps one of the most unique features of the XUV500 is the lounge lighting. Push a button and concealed lights transform the cabin into a lounge. Making you feel relaxed and invigorated at the same time. It's the kind of feeling no other car can come close to satisfying.
  •   A tailor-made throne awaits you on the inside. But there's more to it than just the supple leather that meets the eye. The front seats are bolstered to keep you in place during high-speed cornering.
  •   The driver's seat is height adjustable and allows you to adjust it in 8 different ways including full lumbar support.
  •   Another useful feature is the ability of the last two rows to completely fold away and transform the XUV500 into the perfect vacation vehicle.

Our team of engineers and customer care managers are trained to do a data based and objective evaluation of our customer's feedback. Followed by jointly arriving on a win -win solution, that develops mutual trust and strengthens long term relationships.

To help connect to customers easily, we have 18 regional offices (Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Noida,Karnal,Mumbai, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Guwhati, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Cochin). Our employees are trained to be polite with our customers and always base their judgments on data, facts, evidence and not on assumptions. We may not always be able to satisfy 100% of our customer's demands, but our customers can rest assured that we will be fair and always do our best to provide solutions to customer concerns, and take into account customer feedback.

M&M has 18 regional offices. Each of these offices, have Customer Care Managers who are responsible for specific dealerships. You can contact these offices (the contact details are provided in owners handbook supplied with your vehicle) and give them your feedback. We'll ensure your concern is addressed as soon as possible.

QI have already contacted your local Customer Care team but would like someone senior to talk to me, what should I do?

We have 18 RCCMs (Regional Customer Care Managers) who are in charge for their states. They are very competent engineers with vast experience in after sales and are responsible for customer care in their regions. The RCCM for your region will contact you back if you mention this desire to any individual you are talking to at M&M. You can also send a mail to customercare@mahindra.com making a request that you want to talk to the RCCM. Rest assured you will be contacted back.

QHow long will it take for my communication to be responded to?

Mails received at the address customercare@mahindra.com during working hours (Mon to Fri 0900 - 1700 hrs) are usually acknowledged within 60 minutes. Similarly we attempt to respond to letters / faxes received, within 6 hours.

QIf I want to reach the Head of Customer Care, what procedure do I follow?

You can send your communication to VP - Customer Care, Mr. Sanjoy Gupta on gupta.sanjoy@mahindra.com. He will strive to respond back to you within 6 hours during working days and when he is in office. A copy of this mail communication should also be marked to customercare@mahindra.com.

QHow do I reach the top person in Mahindra Automotive Sector?

QHow do I know that the dealership is charging me the correct prices for products and services?

For all vehicles the ex-showroom prices are declared in advance by Mahindra & Mahindra. This information is available on our website. For spare parts, Mahindra & Mahindra declares the respective MRPs (Maximum Retail Prices). Labour charges for services rendered are by an hourly flat-rate as per A, B, C classified cities. These have been pre-4defined by M&M and each job is charged by the standard number of hours that is necessary for the job. (The calculation will be done on the basis of - hours for job multiplied by flat rate for the city. For example: If you're in City A, where the hourly rate is Rs. 375. A two and half hour job would be charged at Rs. 375 x 2.5 hours = Rs 937.50)
